Denial Is Not Peace. It Is That, Muffled.

15 April 2026 · By Sameer Kamboj

Life is always moving.

Through you. Through your relationships. Through every conflict you have decided is too uncomfortable to face. It does not stop because you look away. It does not wait because you are not ready.

It converts.

What you will not feel it pushes into your body. What you will not see it moves into your behaviour, your mood, the inexplicable weight of ordinary days. What you will not meet it pressurises, quietly, until the silence itself becomes the symptom.

This is denial. Not the absence of conflict. The refusal of the life force that is trying to move through it.

And that refusal has a cost far greater than we recognise.

I have seen this up close. A parent who believed deeply in being a happy, kind person. When their child was in pain, they could not sit with it. They said don’t pay attention. Forgive. You are too sensitive. Not out of cruelty. Out of their own helplessness. Feeling the child’s pain meant feeling their own and that felt like drowning. So they chose the life vest:

“I can either keep hurting or choose to be happy. I choose to be happy.”

It looked like peace.

It was the life force, muffled.

What was lost in that silence was not merely the resolution of a conflict. It was the very movement that could have set them both free and brought them closer to who they actually are.

Here is what we miss when we look away.

Every moment of discomfort is not an obstacle. It is an opening. The life force pressing against what has hardened not to break you, but to bring you back to something truer than your narratives, your beliefs, your carefully constructed calm.

Our fear of that discomfort is what keeps us imprisoned inside the very stories we most need to outgrow.

When that parent finally stops denying and turns toward the child’s hurt something frozen begins to move. A new equation of life begins. One that redefines both of them. Not because the conflict was solved. Because the movement was finally allowed.

And beneath that movement if you are willing to look is something more fundamental than the conflict itself.

Every conflict is a point where the feminine the force of creation, of longing, of life endlessly seeking to renew itself is pressing against what has hardened. It does not do this to destroy. It does this because it is being called toward union with something greater than itself. The masculine the force that holds form, that powers and directs is not the enemy of that longing. It is what the feminine must move through, not away from.

Together, they do not merely resolve the conflict.

They evolve through it. Toward the witnessing of That the one from which both arise, the one to which both return. The stillness that is not suppression. The quiet that is not muffled.

Denial is what happens when we refuse this movement.

When we choose the performed calm over the lived surrender. When we mistake the muffling of That for the peace of That.

They are not the same thing. They have never been the same thing.

The conflict in your life right now in your marriage, your work, the person you have become is not asking you to solve it.

It is asking you to stop muffling it.

Because the moment you do you are no longer fighting the life force alone in the dark.

You are moving with it. Toward That.

And that is the only direction in which life has ever been trying to take you.
