Self Awareness
The Earth Is a Stakeholder. Not a Backdrop.
22 April 2025 · By Sameer Kamboj
Earth Day is celebrated once a year. And forgotten for the other 364.
But the Earth shows up for us every single day— without hashtags, without noise. Without asking for anything in return.
We plan for quarters. Sometimes for a decade. But not 200 years. Not even 20. Because nowadays, we rarely think beyond the span of our own lives.
“I want to be remembered.” “I want my name to be known.” “I want a 10x valuation.” Even the desire to “leave a legacy” is often less about what we give— and more about how we’ll be remembered.
It’s not purpose. It’s ego—cleverly disguised.
In that mindset, who has time to think about the next generation? Or the one after that?
And most of all—who is thinking about the Earth?
The Forgotten Stakeholder
We speak often of customers, investors, employees. We obsess over user journeys, market trends, and exits.
But we don’t talk about the ground beneath it all. The air we breathe. The water we drink. The ecosystems we quietly take from, and rarely give back to.
The Earth is not just where your business operates— it’s a stakeholder in everything you do.
Conscious Entrepreneurship Is in Harmony with the Planet
This isn’t about ticking a CSR box. It’s about aligning with reality. Conscious entrepreneurship means building something that doesn’t cost the planet.
Because if your business pollutes, extracts, or depletes without replenishing— who will you serve in 200 years?
The next generation doesn’t just inherit your brand. They inherit your impact.
This is about awareness. Not sacrifice, but conscious choice.
Ask yourself: Is your business in relationship with the Earth? Or is it just using it?
Real leadership includes the planet. Not as an afterthought. But as a conscious, present stakeholder.
The Earth is already doing her part. It’s time we did ours.
