Inviting Grace into your lives

On Vijay Dashami we mark the triumph of good over evil. And, on the surface that story works very well. But, if we see it only in those terms, we will lose out on the true learnings that we can apply to our every day life that will allow grace to flow into our lives

Shalini Kamboj posts have been talking about the various qualities of the feminine – be it tolerance, or devotion. Creation or Destruction. Power or Courage. And, today marks the day these qualities win over the masculine to bring joy in lives. Ultimately it is about that balance of the two.

Masculine is Lonely. Feminine creates.

Balance - Knowing you are the creator and there is no Loneliness, only Oneness!

The desert is desolate, and bleak. And lonely. And amidst this is an oasis that provides shelter and succor. Can the oasis exist without the desert? When combined, they form a complete ecosystem, illustrating that in oneness, there's no sense of isolation.

Masculine is Power. Feminine is surrender.

Balance - Knowing that the real Power lies in Surrender.

This happens to most of us. We are faced with a problem, and we spend our time breaking it down and trying to solve it. And no matter what you try, the solution is a dead end. It is frustrating and mind numbing, and you hear your self say “I give up. What will be will be” – and you find the problem solving itself.

Masculine is Skepticism. Feminine is Exploration.

Balance - Knowing that it is only the Sceptic who can Explore. If you were merely a sceptic, you'll be a judgmental idiot stuck in your intellectual ignorance.

Think of a map without boundaries (feminine exploration). It gives endless possibilities but can be overwhelming. Now, introduce a compass (masculine scepticism), guiding the journey. Together, they provide a balanced path to discovery.

Masculine is Judgement. Feminine is Inclusion.

Balance - Knowing that Judgement leads to inclusion and that is the sole purpose of judgement. To know how to Include everyone, How to avoid living in duality.

Imagine a chef carefully selecting ingredients (masculine judgement). The goal isn't to exclude but to create a dish where every element is included to enhance the overall flavor (feminine inclusion). Balance is in appreciating every ingredient's unique contribution.

We live in a world where feminine qualities are not valued. Rather we value qualities of warlike behavior, manipulation, seduction, skepticism, and judgement. We are prodded to be in a constant state of alert, waiting to either attack or be attacked. It is exemplified by hubris, insane competition, and defeat of competitors.

Unconscious is about allowing either the feminine or the masculine to remain a compulsive dominant force to guide our lives. Consciousness on the other hand balances the two. That’s where the possibilities of a full life exist.

A festival like this is the time for all of us to reflect on what we are becoming. On what we are doing to ourselves and those around us. And hopefully this reflection will allow us to self correct and heal ourselves, by welcoming the feminine back into our lives. And Allowing us to feel that oneness. I wish you all a happy Dassera.
